Daniel J. Lee
Young Artists' Concerto Competition 2016 Winner
Daniel J. Lee is a twelve year old and a 6th grader at Christian Brothers School in New Orleans. His family came from Seoul, Korea and he was born in New Orleans. He began studying piano at age 5 with Mr. David Randall “Randy” Rumbelow, Jr. and he has been a student of Dr. Donna Clavijo since age 9.
In the spring and summer of 2016, Daniel has received first place in the TorgrimsonSwanzy Competition and District Rally by Louisiana Music Teachers Association as well as the “Irving Carr Award” from The Junior Philharmonic Society of New Orleans.
He also began to study violin from age 10 with Mr. Byron Tauchi and is currently playing violin at GNOYO (Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestras). During the summer, he attended summer music institutes like GNOYO Summer Music Festival (‘15) and Chicago Suzuki Summer Institute (‘16).
He likes to listen to music and to draw cartoons in his free time.
