New Water Music will be a free, public performance on Lake Ponchartrain debuting composer Yotam Haber's New Water Music. It will be performed from the water by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and community musicians in a spectacular choreographed visual presentation, conceived and executed by New Orleans Airlift.

New Water Music takes inspiration from Handel's Water Music, famously performed on the River Thames for the King of England in 1717, but also for the wider city who watched from shore and from boats. New Water Music pays homage by connecting exceptional music to diverse public audiences, but also uses this performance to illuminate Louisiana's coastal crisis of receding wetlands and changing lifestyles for fisherman and coastal residents, with repercussions for New Orleans residents and beyond.

In addition to the performance, there will be food trucks, educational displays and information tables set up for your enjoyment.

Volunteer community musicians interested in this event should contact: amanda.wuerstlin@lpomusic.com
