The last concert in our Outside the Bachs series is centered on compositions that utilize repurposed materials and starts out with two works by 20th century composers. Hovhaness’ Alleluia and Fugue attributes its flowing polyphonic style to choral works of the Renaissance, while Harbison’s The Most Often Used Chords draws its inspiration from the instructional pages of a blank music-writing notebook. The concert concludes with Bach’s Easter Oratorio which heavily uses repurposed musical materials from his earlier works.

Outside the Bachs   is a reimagined concert series for the Orpheum Theater that allows patrons to experience concerts in unique ways with creative and dynamic performance and seating configurations.

Seating for all concerts in the Outside the Bachs series is general admission by section.
