LPO Races for the Cure
The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra participated in Race for the Cure in City Park under the team name Andante con Fuoco Saturday, October 20. This event is particularly special with the orchestra and LPO staff. Nena Lorenz, principal percussionist is a breast cancer survivor, and Cherie Pons, production and stage manager, is a survivor of uterine cancer. Both are in remission!
This is the first year the LPO has formed a team to support the Race for the Cure. Team Andante con Fuoco raised $650 this year in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the global leader of the breast cancer movement and the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists.
Support the Race for the Cure and join Team Andante con Fuoco and all the others this Saturday, at New Orleans City Park, 1 Palm Drive behind the New Orleans Museum of Art. Donations may be made by visiting komenneworleans.org.
